Dr. Ward is a life sciences executive with over 25 years of experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. Prior to founding Kuria Therapeutics, Dr. Ward served as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Reata Pharmaceuticals, where he led R&D, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and project management for a portfolio of novel Nrf2 activators being developed for both topical and systemic administration. Before that, Dr. Ward developed ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and medical devices as Global Vice President of Pharmaceutical R&D for Bausch & Lomb. Dr. Ward has also held positions of increasing responsibility within GlaxoSmithKline and SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Ward holds a PhD in Toxicology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Stevens is a biotech executive with 17 years of experience in the development of novel therapeutics. Prior to co-founding Kuria, Dr. Stevens earned positions of increasing responsibility within InterveXion Therapeutics, up to Chief Operating Officer, with her duties including responsibility for finance, human resources, R&D oversight, clinical operations, and project management and vendor oversight for both nonclinical and clinical studies. Dr. Stevens is also an accomplished scientist, and has been the Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on multiple Federally-awarded grants covering both preclinical research and investigational clinical studies. Dr. Stevens holds a PhD in Biology and an MBA from the University of Arkansas, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer biology at Harvard Medical School.

Mr. Flory is a biotech executive with a passion for developing novel therapeutics and optimizing product development. Prior to Kuria, Mr. Flory was Senior Director of Drug Development at Unicycive Therapeutics, where he oversaw the development of a portfolio of compounds, including those targeting mitochondrial function. Previously, Mr. Flory spent over 11 years at Reata Pharmaceuticals developing a portfolio of novel Nrf2 activators. Mr. Flory was Director of Project Management & Integration, responsible for oversight of the entire Nrf2 clinical development portfolio. Mr. Flory also earned significant experience in Alliance Management while at Reata, overseeing a complex collaboration with a major pharma partner. Mr. Flory holds a BS in Biology from UCLA, and an MBA from UC Davis.

Dr. Gentry is an experienced physician with over 30 years of experience in clinical and basic science research. Dr. Gentry is a practicing clinical anesthesiologist, and Professor of Anesthesiology and Pharmacology & Toxicology and former Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Gentry has extensive industry experience as a co-founder of InterveXion Therapeutics, with responsibility for the design, execution, and interpretation of complex multi-site clinical trials. He has particular expertise in the pharmacology of the central nervous system and the pharmacokinetics of rapidly acting agents. Dr. Gentry received his MD from UAMS, and completed a Fellowship and Residency at Northwestern University. 

Dr. Henry is an accomplished academic and industrial scientist, with over 25 years of research experience. Dr. Henry is Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Arkansas, where his research interests include cell and molecular biology and advanced protein production techniques. As a co-founder of InterveXion Therapeutics, Dr. Henry has extensive CMC experience, including process development and scale-up, solving complex manufacturing issues, and vendor oversight for production of both drug substance and drug product. Dr. Henry also has experience in technology licensing and evaluation. Dr. Henry holds a PhD in membrane protein assembly from Kansas State University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Florida.
